Hi

Please suggest some healthy fats ideas?

Have a four year old who is great at eating vegetables and fruits.

But she has egg, dairy, nuts allergies.

She doesn't like meat or fish (would just eat one kind of fish). She doesn't like any dips (e.g. humours or guacamole).

Don't mind getting food from anywhere or making at home.

Thank you

Wow, that's incredibly difficult @mayflower21

I haven't hit any ideas but hopefully this will bump for you.

Can she have coconut? If so that is a good fat,

Avocados are also good. There's a great recipes for chocolate mousse made with avocados (does have coconut in but could sub that for a oat or soya based cream)

Cook with olive oil or add it to meals as well.

Can she eat soya? Avocado is high fat.

DD2 had 11 allergies inc dairy, egg, soy, ground nuts and coconut. We were prescribed a liquid fat additive for her. We also used blackstrap molasses for calcium.

I would try to sneak some meat into sauces/curries/soups cut it up really small. I’m a pescatarian and used to be vegetarian and without diary it’s really hard to get the protein in a child needs to grow. You could use an app to track what she eats.
For fat you could use etc oil in cooking annd on aSalad. Also avocado and coconut if the likes those. I nice Malaysian style coconut curry with white fish and plenty of rice could work well.

I'll look into it... thanks for the idea.
Although two years ago blood test showed weak soya, corn, and gluten allergies in addition to ones I mentioned in my post, prick test didn't.
So I give her soy products, soy yogurts, bread etc. I haven't noticed any side effects, but I still try to not give too much of those. I think even if there is no immediate reaction like with eggs for example it can cause blocked nose at night through causing inflammation.

Yes I will try curries. She prefers her foods separate, doesn't like things like curries (although I keep offering things she has refused in the past as she might say yes).

There's a high protein Alpro Greek Style plain yoghurt you can get in some shops. Its really nice.
Maybe flapjacks made with coconut oil (or little banana and oat and chocolate protein balls)
I used to make blueberry muffins with oil - maybe olive oil would taste ok in them?

Is she definitely allergic to seeds as well as nuts? And peanuts as well as tree nuts? Given her dietary challenges it's worth checking whether any of those obvious sources of fats and protein are available to her.

Apart from that, I think the answer has to be to find a way to get her to eat meat and oily fish. I've had a couple of Gousto meals which cook beef/pork mince with honey to make a crude appeal to children's tastebuds - that kind of thing might be worth a try.
