Help...flea bites caused by our cat

Mortified to be writing this as we are generally a very clean family but due to a family bereavement my husband has been away and I can only assume giving our cat her monthly flea treatment has slipped through the net. Anyway my toddler and I now have bites and I have been horrified to discover a couple of tiny fleas. The cat has been given treatment but what else do I need to do to fix the issue and stop any more of them please/banish them from our house? I feel itchy just thinking about it and feel so guilty for my toddler. Do I need to fumigate? Many thanks

Treat the cat and buy indorex spray. Go round the whole house with it and spray every room, all cracks and crevices. I've been battling this now for around 6 weeks and still finding them on one cat daily. I'm so disheartened about it and at my wits end now. Feel your pain. Also boil wash every thing Sad

Thanks so much for the advice @PaisleyP. I hope you get it sorted.

Make it your life's mission for the next few weeks to wage war on the full life cycle of the fleas, weild that Indorex and hoover like your life depends on it!

Thanks @GreenManalishi. We tend to hoover most days anyway but boy am I going to increase it now. Am going out this aft to buy A LOT of indorex. Is it safe around young children do you know? And should I be spraying it in our wardrobes etc? Thank you!

I've honestly found you don't have to go mad with the Indorex (although it helped me feel better mentally tbh because I hate the bloody things). The most important thing is treating the cat. Once you've done that, they'll die off in a few weeks.

Thank you so much @IrmaGord. I'm mortified about the whole thing but it explains a lot as my legs have suddenly been covered in bites and my toddler too. Weirdly despite being home a few days my husband doesn't seem to be suffering like us. I'm going to be paranoid of them for quite a while I think but hopefully we can get rid of them quickly. I feel itchy just thinking about them! I had visions of needing to get fumigators in or something.
