but its £3 a loaf gulp

Since DS was diagnosed last June I have been unable to find a bread that he'll actually eat (and my efforts to make it even the birds wouldn't touch it!).

Went to a local farmer's market on Saturday and there was a stall there selling only gluten free/wheat free items and bought a loaf of bread. DS is begging me to let him eat it and its nearly all gone mind you can only get about 10 smallish slices out of it.

Am so pleased have found it but £3 a loaf

Have you tried Juvela Fresh? I usually have it as toast, and I like it.

have you tried a bread machine using doves bread making flour, it will be a lot cheaper in the long run and tastes so much nicer than the bought stuff.

DS is allergic to wheat and can't have Juvela Fresh as it has Wheat starch (gluten removed) and that affects him.

I have tried using bread machine with the bread making flour and it was foul. I have ordered different types of flour as a book I have suggests mixing your own so fingers crossed.

After all the horrid bread though I can't believe how nice this loaf was! Only got 1 slice left now lol.

For sandwiches I only get the FF pitta breads, as they actually taste and 'feel' nice. For sliced bread for toast I normally buy DS multigrain, but to make your own the Orgran mix is good, but the best I've found is the one from Lakeland.
It is a horrific price for all of it - I keep stuff in the freezer so I can't trough down anything that I really like.

We buy this onewww.gffdirect.co.uk/index.php?id=127 form Sainsburys for about £1.70. Its not the freshest taste but it makes good toast.

I admire you guys for g/f baking, can't get my head around it, we are mostly going without bread or use enerG (3-4 slices per week) tho I occasionally bake a cake

I've been gf for nearly 10 years, and when I started there was much less in the shops so you had to.
I do eat far less bread than pre gf - sandwiches are an unusual lunch.

I buy gf bread by Antoinette Savill which is sold in waitrose. She makes rolls and bread but white though. When toasted it is delicious.
