CMPA?

I am querying if my baby could have CMPA and wondering about the thoughts of anyone who has experience. She is 5.5 weeks old and has had 1 or 2 bottles of formula a day since birth and 2 weeks ago we moved to exclusive formula.
Since a couple of days old she has suffered with what appeared to be stomach discomfort/trapped wind- arching, pulling legs up, grunting/moaning/very restless particuarly at night etc but thankfully not a huge amount of crying. She also had frequent hic ups, a lot of nasal congestion (sneezes a lot). We had some success helping the stomach symptoms with infacol and gripe water but both seemed to stop helping much after a few days.
Then since moving to formula the above symptoms got worse and we added symptoms of reflux- sick after almost every feed or sometimes some time later (not massive amounts though) and appearing to be repeatedly swallowing/gulping and sometimes gagging on liquid coming up (you can hear the liquid).
She occasionally cries on/during her feeds but is always keen to feed but has been taking smaller amounts than previously the last few days. She is increasingly unsettled/fussy/restless after her feeds.
She appears to have developed constipation- currently no poo for over 48hrs when she was going regularly the first few weeks.
She has smelly wind and her tummy seems quite hard.
We tried changing her formula from aptamil to cow and gate comfort- this initially seemed to help but after a day or 2 got worse again.
The things that don't quite fit are: we have never had any problem with weight gain- gained 3lbs in 5.5 weeks and regained birth weight by day 10. She is always keen to feed and although we have some vomiting it's not a huge amount.
Any thoughts?
I am calling GP tomorrow to discuss. If the GP agrees it could be that then what would the next step be- do they have to investigate before putting her on milk free formula? I really hope not as we need to do something soon.
Thanks for reading the essay!

Some babies are windy and get tummy ache. From experience cmpa babies scream, relentlessly. Vomiting continually, back arching, leg scrunching, not slerping or bring able to settle at all, but it doesn't mean your baby doesn't gave it. Comfort formula can often cause constipation so could thst have caused this developnent? How successfully does your baby wind after feeding? It can really take a long time in pidition, and completely getting the knack to get all wind up sometimes.
The swallowing sounds like a reflux noise, are you trying omperazole?
If its likely or possible that cmpa exists babies can be moved to an ehf formula (similac alinentum is often prescribed as it's cheap) firstly to see if it helps. This us cheaper than an amino acid formula and can be enough to many. It should make some difference if cmpa exists, sinr fictors are more generous eith their budget and will prescribe aa formula straight away. The actual test is whether these cure the probkem.
Ask about prescription formulas.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I do realise it could just be normal baby behaviour but it seems excessive from talking to other people.
She winds pretty well, we generally wind her half way through a bottle and at the end and get big burps reasonably quickly.

I am going to ask about medication for reflux if the GP doesn't think it is allergy.
The comfort formula says it should help constipation?

Ive always found comfort formula caused constipation and i know other people have said the same. The question is whether milk change councides with it. My severly cmpa children gained weight consistently (incredibly) so i wouldnt be fooled by that. Cmpa doesn't necessarily cause failure to gain weight.

Thank you. I definitely felt that the constipation has coincided with the increase in formula/reduction in breast milk which does cover the same time we moved to the comfort formula so impossible to separate the 2 but worth baring in mind so thanks.

Interesting about the weight gain as that was something I would have just assumed would be a big symptom. I do think if she does have it then it's probably a mild-moderate case not severe like yours as I would assume that would go with much more vomiting and distress than we get
