Allergy to nail product

I have always got my nails professionally done at the salon. My go to is acrylics with shellac. Since the first lockdown, I invested in a shellac kit from Amazon and paid around £50 for it. I used this for a good few months, until one day I woke up covered in circle patches of red, inflamed and itchy skin. At first I was told I had ring worm, but the medicine prescribed was not helping and it was just getting worst. By chance I took off my shellac that I had applied myself and then left it off until my skin healed. I then applied it again and woke up with the same rash!!!! So we now know, that this was the cause. Since then, I have avoided the nail salon to get my usual professional treatment. I am worried that the kit has started an allergy to all nail treatments, but wondered how likely this is to be the case.

Could it just be that specific product that I am allergic to? I have also read that not curing shellac can cause an allergy? Is this the case? I wasn't allergic to the shellac at first, it took a few months to develop. I have also been having acrylic nails done for around 6 years and never had an issue until I invested in this DIY shellac kit. I have now, not used any form of nail product in over a year!

Any help or personal experiences will be much appreciated!
I just want my pretty nails back!!
Thanks :))))

Not cured properly, on the skin etc can all causrs allergies. You won't know its not cured you cant tell, but it's getting much more common to become allergic to gel/shellac etc. I think you are calling the stuff you bought shellac but it's almost certainly gel polish not shellac.
Its worth finding out as it has implications with some dental work.

Yes it was gel. Haha!

What dental work does it effect? I only ask because I'm due to undergo something soon. Do I need to call the doctor? They are aware of the allergy, but didn't send me for any tests
