Christmas pudding

Can anyone recommend somewhere to get a nut-free Christmas pudding? Dd is allergic to hazelnuts and sometimes reacts to cakes etc which 'may contain traces of nuts' so I don't want to risk a reaction on Christmas Day. Also, DMIL is lactose intolerant although dairy free options seem to be quite easy to find. I will need 2 puddings anyway to feed the number of people - 1 dairy free and 1 nut free...

I'd make your own if your dd is that sensitive. Almost all bakery products say may contain traces.

Otherwise, as a nut allergy person myself, I usually go for the cheapest ones. The fancy puds all have nuts in my experience.

Thanks

Did you manage to find one @LesterKnopf?

I don't know about nut free but the ASDA cheap one is DF. We had it last year abs it was nice Smile

DS is really allergic to nuts and he's always been fine with the cheap Sainsburys one. I think the cheap ones tend to be nut free as nuts are an expensive ingredient.

TBH I've never seen hazelnuts in any they tend to have walnuts or maybe almonds in (walnuts are his most allergic nut out of many). The traces are because the production line makes many different recipes, at some stage some of which will include nuts.

We got an asda dairy free one and their normal cheap one which claims to not have nuts in it 🙂
