Hi there,
I’m looking for suggestions or tips for party food for someone who is anaphylactic allergic to egg, wheat, barley and peanuts.

Thank you for any help!

Is it someone coming to your party? Most people bring their own if they are that allergic.

It’s a bit of a tricky situation. I think they’re coming to our party, they haven’t RSVP’d however apparently other mums have said that they’ve heard that the child’s mother has said he’s coming. I don’t have the mothers phone number and she doesn’t do the school run as the kid is at breakfast/after school club.
I only found out today that they might be coming and the party is this weekend. I’d
like to have some food and cake available just in case they do turn up. I’d hate for him to feel left out.

That is tricky, you'd think the DM would have called you.

Unfortunately, I haven't got any thoughts in the food as they're not my allergies.

Hopefully someone will be along soon who can help.

Hi All, Has anyone had to go private for an Allergy testing company who will test toddlers? The waiting list for NHS is over a year so just wondered if anyone else has had this problem & could recommend a company ? We’v been looking online and so far struggling to find a company in north west that will test the toddler age group. Thanks in advance x

It's a bit strange the parent hasn't been in touch. Usually I would RSVP to the parent and let them know allergies up front, and offer to bring anything if it's easier.
Especially if it's anaphylaxis, maybe the parent is planning to bring the child's own food.

The only other option is to write a note and ask the child's teacher to pop it in their bag asking them to get in touch.

What food are you serving anyway?

It probably sounds overwhelming but if you can provide just a few things that the child can eat that are similar or the same as the rest of the food it will be fine. Just read the packets in the shop.

It is almost impossible to find foods that don't say 'may contain traces......' so don't worry about that.

Keep all of the packets so the mother can look at them.

Cocktail sausages, hummus, rice cakes. Plenty of sweeties like haribo, marshmallows

Maybe check the GF isle and see if they have some wheat free pizza or garlic bread?

My DC only has egg and is used to not having the cake etc at parties, the wheat makes this one really difficult! I'm sure the mum would appreciate any effort you make

I second the advice about not worring about "may contains" and keeping all the packets for the mum to check!
