Enough gluten for a Coeliac test?

DS has had a blood test sprung on him next week and i'm wondering if he's actually eating enough gluten for a reaction to show up?

Typical day is...
Breakfast - Oatbix and/or Oatflakes or Jordans
Lunch - 2 slices of sourdough toast with jam or hummus
Dinner - we tend to eat either rice or GF pasta (DH is gluten intolerant) with veg & curries, chilli or pasta sauce.

Now I could ask him to eat Weetabix until next week because I know that upsets his stomach already but whilst he's home this week, he has more GCSE assesments next week and can't afford to be ill.

But if he carries on with his normal diet it might not be enough. Or is it too late to make a difference anyway?

Supposes to be eating it daily for 6 weeks beforehand:

How long do I have to eat gluten before being tested?

The recommendation is to eat some gluten in more than one meal every day for at least six weeksbefore getting tested for coeliac disease.

It's just at home we don't generally have any for dinner though he does eat regular toast/biscuits so DS has never been 100% GF. He always eats some daily, especially in school lunches so has had it constantly for the last 6 weeks but never in great volumes.

The doctor is clutching at straws as he's suggested that even if it comes back clear we should still try a strict GF diet to see if DS's health improves. Currently suffering from chronic fatigue & joint pain. Weight has always been on the low side despite a good appetite (eats as much as DH) and is now below 1st centile.

They're testing his thyroid too.

Just incorporate as much gluten in every meal from now on, it may help it may not.

If there’s a risk he might be coeliac I would honestly recommend enjoying all the most delicious gluten filled things that he can before the test. Once he gets the result they will be off menu. I badly miss:

Soft white bread, especially chip sandwiches
Croissants and similar pastries
Eclairs
French fancies

These are the kind of thing you can’t get good substitutes for. I wish him good luck with the test.
