Corn / maize allergy

Hi there,
My daughter has been off dairy for a couple of months now and we’ve been investigating food intolerances since she was really violently sick and had a rash on her cheeks. Rash died down but still there and we went for a private allergy test today.
It came back that she is intolerant to corn ( sweet corn, corn flower, maize etc)
When I got back, I saw that this is in a lot of things, like baby food pouches which I use a lot and the baby snack crisps.
Obviously not going to use these anymore!
Need to cook from scratch and have got into bad habits
Just wondering if anyone else has had this experience of corn allergy for their choke before and what kind of foods did you give them?
Many thanks!!

Yes to my son but he was allergic to so many other things too that it was basically all simple vegetables and meat and a lot of rice and oats

Oh thank you for your reply seanceinterrupted
Did your son grow out of the allergy with time or did it lessen at all?

He's 9 now and can eat most things except peanuts and tree nuts without major challenges. His behaviour is affected by wheat still and dairy can cause toileting issues but as he was ana to dairy this is a huge step. The corn issues as well as legumes and egg and soy he grew out of at about age 5/6.

@seanceinterrupted Your post gives me hope!

My 16mo is Ana to dairy, egg, legumes, fish and sesame. Do you mind me asking if you did anything specific like giving baked dairy?
(Sorry for derailing!)

He was ana to even the first rung of the ladder for a long time. One day we were overseas and I accidentally baked a packet mix cake that had some dairy in it (I missed it in the translation). He didn't react. Even though it was a minor amount it was my clue we could start. He was about 6 by that point though. He can now eat dairy but he'll get stomach pains and toileting issues if he eats ice cream or drinks milk. We did do 'trials' a lot but he had so many allergies we mainly concentrated on the non ana ones ... the ana ones we did always failed. I'm now in a different country and wanting to do a nut trial but waiting until services aren't so overwhelmed in case it goes wrong

I should say I don't recommend you do trials on your own unless you know what you're doing! We did several in hospital but also lived really close to the allergy hospital (minutes to walk there).. in the country I'm in I literally know more than the allergy guy just because it's a sideline for him (he's respiratory focused), but I'd only do them in the carpark of the hospital, or very nearby....
