Have seen peter rabbit "rice fusili" and a wheat free pasta made from cornflour and rice flour in supermarkets. Has anyone used either of these for babies??

I use the rice and millet wheat free pasta, it's nice, you can't tell the difference just be careful not to overcook it

Haven't seen the peter rabbit stuff - but I bought corn pasta for my dd and used it till I gave her wheat.

I'm not stalking you alibo - just seem to be on the same threads today

thanks krocket, which make was this and where from, have only seen one made from corn and rice? Pidge, feel free to stalk!! Am new to all this baby stuff, and do worry myself over giving ds something that will give him eczema, then I wonder am I being too careful? dh has asthma and had terrible excema when a child. So we welcome as much advice as possible, the hv's don't seem to give much help at all really.

yup - most HVs are no good at all on this stuff. I remember feeling completely isolated, I wish I'd known about mumsnet then. I have eczema, asthma, rhinitis, nut allergies etc, though all (except the nut problem) much improved from when I was a child, when I was hospitalised with infected eczema and hospitalised again later on with asthma. So I wanted to do everything possible to help my dd avoid those experiences, and am now pregnant due in March and will be doing a similar weaning plan with my second child. Sometimes I felt like a total control freak compared with my friends who were shoving all kinds of food down their babies from 4 months. But then they didn't have my history, so I'm happy that I just wanted to do the best for my dd. And now she's super healthy, no eczema or asthma, plus she's a champion eater. So we're happy!

it's made by orgran and is available in most tescos and sainsburys. It's not specifically for babies but no reason why you couldn't give it to them

Alibo - I've been using the ogran corn pasta for the last week or so, and it seems great. Only thing is that it's a bit tasteless, but if you mix it in with whatever protein and veg you've cooked, it adds bulk and starchy carbs without the wheat.
