Help with long-term skin allergies/reactions

Hi - I would be so grateful for any advice.

My DH has been having awful skin reactions for around six months. Has been to doctors with no real results, and obviously and understandably can't go any more at the moment.

He works outside and seems to have initially had a reaction to some chemical that he came into contact with. Since then, we've removed contact with that chemical, but he's gone into some hyper-allergic state and is now apparently allergic to pretty much everything.

We've removed all obvious triggers including cutting out food groups; and yet he is still constantly reacting.

He is on Fexofenadine 180mg daily and Cetraben cream, neither seem to make much difference.

He has thick layers of eczema on his arms, neck, shoulders and head, and is constantly irritating them, so they bleed again. We seem to be stuck in a constant pattern where nothing is making him better.

We're tried aloe vera, all the normal chemist derma creams, salt baths, etc. Some help a little bit for a time and then either don't work or he starts reacting to them again.

The most effective thing at the moment seems to be my EA 8 Hour Cream!

Sorry for the long post - wanted to give all info - I would be so grateful if anyone has any ideas that we haven't tried?

There was a similar post on here last year and the only thing different in the environment was that they'd decorated the bedroom, have you got anything new in there?

Have you tried to eliminate as much house dust from the bedroom too? So hoovering the mattress, floor and curtains and washing the bedding at 60?

Not sure what I'd do for lotions if I'm honest. I can't tolerate anything with Aloe in, makes my reactions much much worse. Hopefully someone will be along soon with some recommendations. Smile

Hi, my son has multiple food allergies such as All fish, seafood ,eggs, kiwifruit, coconut and all nuts. Also sun allergy and grass pollen, has your little one been exposed to grass, tree pollen? That can be a trigger for rashes or maybe a food additive that you not aware. My son used to be allergic to soya lecithin which is in almost everything like chocolate bars etc so he only had his first high street chocolate " dairy milk" at 6 years old when he tested neg so soya allergy was gone but that's the only one all the rest remained. My son is 10yrs btw. Also on fexofenadine.
I have tried all creams ,ointments, steroid cream, balms, gels under the sun since he was 3months old so i can highly recommend Balneum plus cream to moisturize skin ask your doctor, steroid first wait 20 minutes moisturize constantly through the day , bathtime we use oilatum oil bath, then do steroid usually cortisone
wait 20m then wet wraps with moisturizer where your child needs the most and repeat next day until clear! Here if you need more advice. X hope it helps Wink
