Hi everyone so at the start of March our little boy who's 20 months had bacterial tonsillitis so was given antibiotics for 10 day...he finished these and then 2 days later the tonsillitis came back...he had another 5 day course of antibiotics again and finished these 4 days ago...since finishing these every night he's waking with tummy ache or trapped with and his poos are like hard pebbles...we're having to give him some calpol and then it settles...he has a bottle of full fat milk before bed...could he have a lactose intolerance etc thanks

Yes, it could be also his gut will need time to recover from the antibiotics. I would go 'clean', no sugar, no dairy, no grains, for a few weeks with healthy fats (coconut oil, olive, avocados, seed oils, fish, cod liver oils) vitamin A, D and E. Then when things have settled down, look at giving him some probiotics (BioKult, BioGaia, Udo's choice, adapted to his age).

He sounds more constipated, probably if he was eating and drinking less through being ill. Normally a lactose intolerance would lead to more poos.

More fruit and veg and more water. Maybe prunes will help. Get some lactulose maybe as that will help soften it up. Dont go cutting out lots of foods. Doesn't sound like lactose intolerance
