Salicylate sensitivity/intolerance

Is anyone or does anyone know of someone who has a salicylate allergy?
My 9 month old DD had quite a bad reaction to strawberries around a month ago, projectile vomiting, diarrhoea, bad tummy for a few days, we left it a few days and tried again to check if it was the strawberries. This time it was the same but was quite poorly and unsettled for 4 days.
Last week she was accidentally given a strawberry wafer, same reactions but this time her bottom was swollen, rashed and blistered, I contacted GP, sent photo's and they confirmed it looked like allergic reaction and gave some cream.
Today we gave DD some blackberries and within minutes her face, back and chest was in a lumpy rash.
When I have researched her symptoms they relate to salicylate intolerance.
I am going to ring GP on Monday and ask for some advice.
Does anyone have any advice or experiences please?
Sorry for long post Smile

No experience sorry but it might be worth ringing the Allergy UK Helpline as well as the GP. Good luck Thanks

How are you getting on now @GAW19?

My daughter had this when she was a baby. Now, you'd never know that she ever had a problem as she eats loads of strawberries! I think she stopped having a reaction when she was about two.

My eldest had this when he was a baby/toddler - he grew out of it by about 4-ish and has never had a problem since - he does get very bad hay fever though ...

@JiltedJohnsJulie hey, well the nurse I spoke to on Monday was lovely, gave her allergy medicine and was going to try get her referred for testing, I rang yesterday to see if she did but unfortunately the nhs aren't allowed to do any referrals for the next 3 months Shock so I've been told to just not give her fruit for anything new until she can have tests. It is frustrating but I understand with everything going on.

Thank you for all your story's everyone! Smile
