Hi, am very new to all this...my ds who is 10 months old has over the past week been coming home from nursery with a rash that is mainly on his face, red and raised bumps, some on his trunk and back too, though less severe. GP said might be dairy intolerance as could link with reflux which he still suffers from quite badly. BUT I'm not convinced. Then tonight when he had his tea, his face really went bright red and blotchy, (the rash had been subsiding today) - gave some piriton and it's gone down again. He had Philidelphia sandwiches and has had Philly in various things over the last week.
There's an ingredient called CARRAGEENAN Has anyone heard of this as a reaction before to cream cheese/carrageenan? And if so how many other things is it in? I don't want to jump to conclusions either, any advice on any of this would be so great.

Carrageenan is used as a thickening agent in lots of products (not just food) and is derived from red seaweed, mainly from the Irish coast at Carraghee. I googled it and the above was roughly what wikipedia said.
There was something at the bottom that questioned links with gastro probs but check it out as there's loads of info on that page.
