Intolerance to chocolate in toddler?

I know this is not nearly as serious as a lot of the stuff on here but am a bit concerned and advice on here is always great.

My 3.6 DD has recently started getting really red cheeks after eating chocolate.

She’s not in any other way unwell although she has had a cough/runny nose for weeks now that doesn’t seem to shift - am starting to wonder if it’s connected in anyway and if anyone here has any thoughts/experience?

Which chocolate?

Am not clear - it's happened after white chocolate and milk chocolate on biscuits and today after cooking and eating brownies at nursery - am not sure if it's skin contact rather than eating? Or more likely a specific ingredient?

Gluten, casein and soy seem to be the most common allergy trigger ingredients in chocolate, rather than cocoa. I assume you'd know by now if she was dairy intolerant.

Thank you that's so useful - she is fine with dairy so I was a bit stumped!

I’d consider soya as being a trigger. Milk and white chocolate almost always contain soya.

Obviously if the issue was milk or sugar you’d be seeing reactions to other things.

Chocolate makes me very wheezy/tight chested / etc (I have asthma). I also avoid things with blue and red artificial colouring as they also trigger my asthma.
