Has anyone here had skin prick tests for legumes?

DD's allergy clinic has the serums for testing the very common allergens (milk, egg, nuts etc.) but any other foods we have to take ourselves.

She has an appointment on Thursday and I would like her tested with chickpeas. I've heard that you shouldn't take tinned chickpeas. Should I therefore take a bag of dried chickpeas or would I need to cook them!? (I'm reluctant to cook them as I'm severely allergic to them myself so it really would be difficult to have them boiling in my kitchen).

Any experience/advice much appreciated!

Hi - maybe I'm getting to you a week too late....my son was tested for chickpeas and I brought a tin (and a tin opener!)

Thank you for replying (even though the appointment was last week I still appreciate it!).

In the end I bought and took some frozen cooked chickpeas which seemed up to the job.

Thankfully DD didn't react so that's one less allergen to worry about!

Good to hear about less rather than more when it comes to allergens!
