What do I ask Dietcian re Milk Allergy

I have finally got a appointment with a Paediatric Dietcian. DD is just one and has been drinking soya from a bottle since she was 6 months when i had to stop breastfeeding (won't drink it from a cup because of smell, drinks water from doidy cup).

I am really concerned about her having soya due to mixed reports about teeth, Phytoestrogens and a increase in peanut allergy. Doctor has not discussed alternatives and told me to stick with what i am doing until referral.

Also had conflicting advice about wether i should be using formula or carton milk from the supermarket.

Any advise on what i should be asking??? Or advise from experience of your own children???

What happened with your dd to diagnose milk allergy? My ds now 4 1/2 has milk allergy. Has had soya formula since stopped b/f at 11m as he came up in eczema all over when weaning dairy. Now has more severe reaction and has annual skin tests. Can't stop now but will be on tomorrow or hope you will get good advice here

ds1 had soya formula until he was 12mths, then we switched to the cartons from the supermarket, but made sure it was one with calcium added.

She had severe sickness and facial and hands and feet swelling. She has been for tests at the hospital but in true style of the local NHS i am awaiting conclusive results.

This happened when weaning dairy and also re happened when reintroduced Dairy 2 Months ago. She also had undiagnosed digestive problems at birth and was on special care from birth for a fortnight.

I was advised by doctor that soya cartons from supermarket weren't suitable as a drink until 2 years old but are fine to use for mixing in food and cereal etc from 6 months. Hope this helps.

ds1 was seeing a paediatric dietician and she said they were fine so long as they had added calcium, but the formula was better. And the formula is on prescription so free.
