Please help: breastfeeding and just accidentally consumed egg and dairy, baby allergic to both

We're abroad, there was a miscommunication and I accidentally consumed both egg and cheese at lunchtime today. My 6 month old is allergic to both, but particularly egg; vomiting rather than rashes/eczema, though we had one rash we thought was from egg. In the last hour she's vomited four times.

I'm devastated, I've been so so careful. We also have lots planned over the next few weeks.

Is there anything I can do to make this pass quicker? Should I express then dump some milk? Will it really take two weeks to all leave my system?

We've already identified some other possible intolerances since weaning and I'm worried this is going to bugger up identifying foods if it masks the symptoms as I won't know what's causing it.

Basically I'm just wondering if there's anything I can do to make her feel better, make this pass quicker and continue feeding.

Only give foods you know she is ok with so that you know any reaction is the egg/milk you've consumed. You could pump and dump for a few days if you have dairy free formula available to get past the worst of it. GP may prescribe baby portion or similar of you ask. Probiotics are helpful to repair gut health speedily,I used biogaia with my DS.

Hope it passes soon and great job on the breastfeeding on an exclusion diet, I've done it and it's mentally and physically hard, well done Flowers

Baby piriton, not portion!

No scientific evidence but make sure you're as hydrated as possible and try to avoid blocked ducts as far as possible, both seemed to exacerbate DS's probable nut allergy reaction.

Doesn't seem to take as long to get rid of symptoms if it's a one off rather than ongoing consumption...

Keep a note of reactions, see if you can locate a Dr in case you need one. Maybe give lots of water/food and feed as little as you can get away with for a while.

Smaller feeds worked better pre diagnosis with both DD and DS.

It's such a nightmare dealing with allergies when breastfeeding!

Thank you both, actually have baby probiotics with me so will give those. Don't have formula, she's never had it and won't really take expressed milk in bottles so I guess I'll persevere and drink lots of water and keep my fingers crossed.

Poor you. How frustrating. I was told a one off slip up is quicker to get out of your system. Just keep both of you hydrated and only let baby have solids you know are safe.

Oh and baby piriton for baby and safe probiotics for both of you.

Hope this passes quickly.
