My consultant has said DS (10) should be shown how to give me my epi pen in an emergency. He wondered if 10 was on the young side but said that my biggest risk of allergen exposure comes from the children.
I tried broaching it with DS but he seemed really worried
Any tips videos ideas?

Hi OP. My just turned 11 year old was shown how to use the pen when her younger dd was at her last allergy appointment. They gave us a mini kit consisting of a booklet and trainer pen.
The trainer pen definitely makes it easier as you can practice over and over again. She even showed younger dd (4) how to use it. Maybe you can get hold of one?
There is also a demo video: vimeo.com/247451292

The allergy nurse also got us to bring in old pens and we practiced on a pillow. Obviously the pillow isn’t being used for anything else!

My 6 year old knows how to give it to himself. He also knew at 4 years when he randomly decided to do it to see what it felt like Shock.

We have a training pen (look online, they are free ), which helps more than you imagine. Biggest thing that I've found is reminding people to keep it down for 10 secs. And with a training pen, he can practice on you so it won't seem strange
