Lloyds Pharmacy Allergy Reliever/Medinose for Hayfever recommendation

I bought the Lloyds Pharmacy Allergy Reliever last Saturday after reading about it on the Moneysavingexpert forum. It was £15 but there is a voucher you can print off on the Lloyds site for 10% discount, I'm off to buy another one for DD today.

I've not had a single anti-histamine since I started using it last Saturday. If you do a google for "medinose" it gives details of how it works, the Lloyds one is based on the same principle but a lot cheaper as it is now on special offer.

Thanks for this, I've been wondering about buying one. Specially like the 10% off recommendation!

cheeryface · 30/06/2007 10:23

we have one but it didn't work for us at all

tatt · 30/06/2007 12:17

well I've just sent OH to buy one, because at that price it's cheap enough to try and see. Will let you know how it goes.

Read stuff on the net that suggests it doesn't work for those with polyps and works best for allergic rhinitis/ hosue dust mite. We're trying it for that rather than hay fever.

chocolateteapot · 30/06/2007 14:06

Oh Cheeryface, I am sorry I was a bit hesitant about recommending it but decided I would as it has worked so well for me and it wasn't too horrendously priced. Tatt, I hope it does work, I shall feel bad if it doesn't, fingers crossed. I'm using it for hayfever which I've had since I was 2, so it's a big relief for me - though I'm guessing with all the rain the pollen count is much lower than it usually would be.

no worries - we were probably getting one anyway, you just saved us 10% of the cost. Too early to say if less blocked nose last night was the device or coincidence

tatt · 03/07/2007 20:19

three nights now and seems to be working. After a bit longer will try stopping and restarting to get a better idea if it is coincidence but early signs are encouraging.

chocolateteapot · 04/07/2007 18:53

Oh good, I am glad it seems to be doing something. I noticed quite a difference after about 3 days I think. Forgot to do it today and am fine so far.

as we've been busy it got missed for a couple of nights - and I noticed the impact on the second night. So it's back to regular use.

tatt · 16/07/2007 15:36

for anyone else wondering about this - my partner is the one that has been using it, once a day at night. While he says he hasn't noticed a massive effect I certainly have. When he uses it he doesn't snore until about 5a.m, presumably when the effect starts to wear off .

I've now bought a second one and am wondering about one each for all the family.

Chocolate teapot - thanks!!!! Have seen those ads for Medinose but not got round to buying for DS1 (who suffers horribly from hayfever indued asthma) - have just rushed out to our nearest Lloyds and copped the last one for him!
Even if it doesn't work, it is so cheap woth the coupon that it is worth a punt.

kookaburra · 17/07/2007 10:05

DS was eager to try this - very funny - his nose was glowing red formt he inside and entertaining DS2 - miraculously it actually did unstuff his nose which has been stuffed since April!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So he did again before bed and then this morning.

chocolateteapot · 19/07/2007 08:33

Oh brilliant, I am pleased it is working for people. I have stopped using mine now as I think my hayfever has gone, but when I was using it I used it 2-3 times a day which I found got rid of pratically all my symptoms.

I forgot to mention the red nose bit didn't I, DH nearly collapsed with laughter when he saw me the first time !
