Allergy after care

My eldest child was diagnosed with severe peanut allergy at 4yo and was given epi pens, he is now 13 and has never been seen or heard from anyone since. Currently my yougest child is going through allergy testing and the clinic at the hospital seem very surprised we have never had a follow up appointment for the eldest. Do you normally have follow up appointments?
Thanks

Hi. My DS 13 was diagnosed with a nut allergy at age of 3. We had him retested in hospital aged 8 which involved him tasting then eating nuts until he reacted to see if he was still allergic. We are due back again in the next 12 months to see the consultant so that he can chat to DS about his allergy and advise him on how to manage it. Hope this helps x

I am pretty much exactly in the same situation. My dd was also diagnosed at four and she’s fifteen now.

I’ve just asked my doctor to refer her for a challenge test. It was the epipen shortage that spurred me into action.

The challenge test was scary as DS had a delayed ( we were about to eat in the hospital cafe before going home) but massive reaction. but it also taught me that if you keep calm and give medication it can be stopped.

Shock Wow, that sounds scary. I thought if it wasn't immediate it wasn't an allergic reaction.
