Could you suggest a medica alert bracelet for a small boy?

I have been searching for one for ages. DS (4) has been using some plastic wristbands that say "I'm allergic to..." and you fill up with the details with a permanent pen. Problem is that he has already learned how to take them off and keeps losing them.

Any suggestions? I'm trying to find a more permanent one one that he may love to wear

Idenitfy me have some

Thanks for bumping the thread MamaG.

DS has been used one of the resusable ones in that website Hula, but he keeps loosing them because he can easily remove them, besides... the eczema cream manages to blurr the writing in permanent ink!

The ones for children in that site are beautiful, but can't see a good one for a small boy... although may be tempted to get the tag on its own..

Any one else?

Star Allergy Alerts have good ones -- Australian but will ship internationally.

Thanks Lemonaid! I loved the bracelets you suggested, did a bit of extra search knowing already what I was looking for and I found the same bracelets, but a bit cheaper and with engraving service from the U.S. (just posting in case anybody may find it useful)

Thank you

Oooh! Now that's worth knowing...

HannahandSeb · 27/06/2007 12:36

here is a link to a uk site although the straps are not so nice

www.medicaltags.co.uk/medical-steel-titanium-bracelets.html

PolarCub · 28/06/2007 01:29

Can anyone suggest a medical alert bracelet etc that is made from titanium (preferably surgical grade!)??
I cannot wear any other kind of metal - I've tried all kinds of gold, silver, stainless steels etc but only titanium will do as I react to all the others.

lemonaid · 28/06/2007 07:50

There's a titanium one third from the bottom of the page HannahandSeb linked to in the post before yours.

PolarCub · 30/06/2007 14:08

Thank you Lemonaid - I hadn't spotted that one!

My ds2 has worn the smallest, standard medic alert bracelt for more than a year now, so since just after his second birthday. It's just a comfort to know that if he was lost or we were in an accident that people would know what he was allergic to and his other health issues.

IsabelWatchingItRainInMacondo · 06/07/2007 21:31

Well, I got them and, although more child orientated they are still in the big side for a 4 year old (they are about an inch square) but... DS can't remove it (yet) and he likes the strap, so a success anyway.

If you decide to order from the american place, write the message using capitals, I have done half and half and the small print is a bit difficult to see.

Just ordered a canvas one for ds from Medical Tags UK. £19.95 both sides engraved, in case anyone is interested.

DD has had a medic alert sports band since 6m in the smallest size. I have to put it round her ankle but asked a freind's husband who is a paramedic and he said that's fine, in an emergency they check everywhere.

JohnBlanke4 · 30/01/2021 13:59

I really like the suggestion from everyone. I also found one Medical Alert Bracelets can be stylish while being beneficial as well when an emergency arises. Just sharing because a bit cheaper and with engraving service from the U.S.
