Testing CMPA in third child

Both DS8 and DS6 had CMPA (non-he mediated) as babies- sensitive through my breast milk, so I eliminated dairy and soya. Boys were under a dietician and we used the ladders. They were able to tolerate most dairy and soya by 3 years (but still both choose to have Oatly over cows milk). 2 weeks ago I gave birth to DD. I didn’t want her to have the same horrific symptoms as DS1, so cut out dairy about a week before c section. She is breastfeeding and seems happy and content. However, I now want to test her on dairy and am looking for advice. Should I follow the ladders (possible disadvantage being that I only get subtle symptoms and it takes a long time to see a reaction) OR do I have a glass of milk/ lump of cheese and deal with the possible consequences. Husband is back at work from beginning of Jan so i’m keen to test sooner rather than later. Any experiences or advice gratefully appreciated!!

My DD has CMPA. I cut out for 6 weeks then had a glass of milk. I wanted a strong enough reaction (cruel to be kind sort of way). Because I was dairy free, the one glass of milk seemed to clear from my bm in 2-3 days.

Thanks lashes. Yes, the first time I tested with DS it only took a weekend for symptoms to clear. Hope the CPMA clears soon!

Woolster, I would do a glass of milk I it clearcut. Please please look at the EAT study and wean ds 3 early with the high risk foods: my dc3 had early symptoms and I did early weaning ( after being dairy soy and nut and corn free for 3 months) and we had a rocky month or two but now she can eat anything. Big brother still ana to nuts but has outgrown multiple other allergies (but took 5 years).
