I thought it would be nice if we could share some supermarket finds. So what’s everyone been buying so far?

I can offer up this Turkey Crown.

Has anyone come across a DF Christmas Pudding yet?

And don’t mention Lidl’s Spiced Biscuits. Definitely don’t mention those. Mmmm.

Ooooh place marking! I'm trying to avoid dairy as I have some singing to do over the next few weeks. Is there any decent alternative to butter?

doleritedinosaur · 09/12/2018 20:11

@MelanieCheeks Tesco own olive spread is now dairy free but double check. I know online has only just changed this week.

M&S have dairy free versions of baileys, chocolate & coconut liqueur.
Chocolate & creme brulee.

Tesco’s are doing dairy free chocolate coins.
Moo free have selection boxes.

My sons are dairy & soya free & Im lactose intolerant/probably going to have to go dairy free again in January for breastfeeding so I’ve tried everything.

Jus Roll are all dairy free, great for quick breakfasts.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 09/12/2018 20:11

We use Pure or Vitalite, it’s not the same as butter but it’s a good substitute Smile

Tesco have two kinds of Christmas pudding - regular and finest. They have a kit in some stores that you can make your own Christmas pudding too - if you feel like getting involved.

FuckingWaffleDoggy · 09/12/2018 20:19

Not checked them yet this year as on SlimmingWorld with limited will power lol but last year Iceland had dairy free Christmas puds and Lidl had mince pies. Both just normal range, not free from.

Nemesia · 09/12/2018 20:27

It might not be festive but for an easy dinner, asda's make your own pizza section now have dairy free cheese. It melts surprisingly well too.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 09/12/2018 20:47

Lidl had mince pies. I may or may not have been troughing on those already...Grin

Aldi also has spiced biscuits (possibly had the amount I'm eating). Stollen, but not the bites or the posh ones, also from Aldi and they had mint thins (like after eights) that are dairy and soya free (bloody soya lethicin in so many dark chocolate things)! Dairy (+Soya and Egg) free for breastfeeding 1 month old!

JiltedJohnsJulie · 10/12/2018 20:45

Dairy, Soya & Egg Free must be hard. I struggle enough sometime so with being DF.

Congratulations on your lovely LO too Thanks

DH is dairy, soya, egg and gluten free. I’m the same, except I can have soya but not most nuts and no tree fruits. SomI basically get nothing xmassy.

Sainsburys Free from White chocolate buttons are pretty good.
Co-op free from mince pies.
Sainsburys Free from Xmas puds.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 13/12/2018 19:35

Soyatoo do the best dairy-free whipped cream. There's a squirty one and a tofu-like block that you beat up. And, just like whipped cream, the squirty one deflates but the one you have to actually whip does not.

They do them in soya, and in (soya-free!) rice. I've seen the soya ones in healthfood shops, but have not seen the rice ones in ages. Online, maybe?

JiltedJohnsJulie · 13/12/2018 20:10

If anyone doesn’t fancy making their own Red Cabbage, Sainsbo’s has ready made, and guessing what, it’s DF! Smile

Thank you!

LesAnya · 13/12/2018 23:36

The oatly range is really good! They do a creme fraiche, single cream and custard (although the custard isn’t great warmed through).

LesAnya · 13/12/2018 23:37

And yay for DF pizza!
