Failed milk ladder. Where would porridge be?

Hello,
Unfortunately my lo has just failed the milk ladder... luckily we scooted straight up and have only failed on UHT so she has still done really well and made life a much easier!
My question is... where would homemade porridge be on the ladder with regular milk. As it’s heated would it be lower than UHT?
Thanks xx

Not sure I understand this so please forgive me if I'm wrong but porridge is really nice made with water. You can dish it up with a dollop of cream which obviously wouldn't be heated.

I probably didn’t explain very well. My other half makes great porridge and my lo loves it. Just wondering where it would be on the milk ladder.
Unfortunately cream is above actual drinking milk so that’s a no xx

Why not make it with dairy free milk anyway? If you're are having with a dollop of compote/raisins etc then it isn't noticible anyway and cooks in the same way for the same time...

I geddit now. What PourquoiPas said is good.

Elmlea double light cream alternative is OK for milk intolerances - I just looked it up.

honeysucklejasmine · 20/09/2018 22:43

Elmlea is absolutely not ok for what I assume is CMPA.

Not sure about your question OP as we're still stuck at step 1. But heating milk would denature the proteins so I assume it would be lower than cold, fresh, milk.

Not helpful, sorry.

honeysucklejasmine · 20/09/2018 22:44

If you want a cream alternative, CMPA people, Oatly do a cream. Sold in Tesco. Good if you also can't have soya.

we are absolutely atrocious on the milk ladder.

milk in chocolate digestives is about as far as we have got. She got insect bites and had an allergic reaction to cashew at her dads and then has something with other allergens in....

I think it is about a week since we last gave antihistamine, so may try again.
