HEDGEHOGS

I was just bringing my washing in when my foot caught a hedgehog. It was dark so didn't see it. Aout two mins later my foot has swelled up with white like blisters. I have heard that the hedgehod is not poisonous but can lick poison onto their spines. Is that true?? Help needed just in case it could be serious. Thanks

i have not heard of the licking poison thing tbh.
i know they are generally riddled with fleas and ticks but other thatn that....

will find out.

'Their spines are not poisonous or barbed and, unlike the quills of a porcupine, cannot easily be removed from the animal.'

I dont know what the reaction could be, other than just from being pricked, so to speak.
The spines are made from hollow straws of keratin, like hair, that's all.
