What do you have for breakfast?

My daughter is trialling a gluten free diet. She says Warburtons wraps are grainy like sand! and says Morrissions own porridge is chewy! I only just managed to get fish fingers down her. What's the Wheetabix equivalent like? She loves Wheetabix (non gluten free), would eat the hole box if I let her. Any suggestions for breakfast? I feel soo dispondent

How are you both getting on today? I’m DF not GF but I can remember how overwhelming the first 2 weeks were.

Have you tried the Coeliac website? They have some breakfast ideas here Smile

Sorry to hear! I was diagnosed in Nov and I'm still struggling.

I like Nestle GF Corn Flakes (tried the Natural Earth ones and wasn't impressed), Warbutons loaves are surprisingly good, GF Genius pancakes for a treat.

Also, M&S do a great GF selection in regards to breaded food items.

In regards to the website posted on the comment above - I would recommend signing up as it also comes with an app (£24 a year subscription I believe) and it also gives you GF certified food places near your location.

Good luck! xx

Thanks for asking. She ate 2 wheetabix before she said she didn't really like it, I didn't serve it to her before it had soaked in the milk and gone soft. I blended the porridge and soaked in milk for 5 mins before cooking as normal and she liked it, yippee. Her dietician has suggested bagels and shops own cornflakes or rice crispies but they have malt flavouring, internet says that's gluten so I'm confused now.

Thanks @Hanlonx dietician wants to trial it for a week but I think I'm already seeing positive results 😁 so it maybe something to look into if dietician wants to continue

You just need a good walk down a few free from aisles at the supermarket

Breakfast here varies

Gf cornflakes most are fine
There are gf nutribix like weetabix
Toast with fruit/beans/egg etc
Potato waffle (Birdseye are gf)
Waffles l batch make, freeze and pop in the toaster
Pancakes, I do thick American ones and spare batter lasts for the next day in the fridge
Hash browns (Morrison’s) always popular
Lots of recipes on Pinterest

@Schroedingerscatagain thanks for the suggestions, I've been looking at the free from aisles for months now ahead of being given the go ahead, I wasn't expecting her not to like everything.

For quick breakfasts I tend to do either yoghurt with seeds/fruit/nuts or something like egg muffins which have been made in advance (they freeze ok too) e.g.

mini muffin omelettes
