hayfever.

Tillyboo · 02/05/2007 17:09

Sounds like hayfever unless he goes out elsewhere without those symptoms.
There are plants that are toxic and irritants so check what you have in your garden.
Have a look on the www.rhs.org.uk website.
You'll be surprised just how many plants are irritants.

Sometimes when we are out he's ok but other times he swells up.
Last year he had an anaphylatic reaction whice started in the garden

pollen of some type, tree pollen around now. Has he had any tests done, they should be able to give you an idea - and an epipen if it's anaphylactic.

Hes only had rast test to confirm allergies we have got Epi-pens as he is allergic to fish, eggs and peanuts.
We have got a big acorn tree at the bottom of the gardeb could it be that??

I,m allergic to grass, not pollen though. Could it be grass?

Hi alibobins, it could be any plant really. Sorry that does not help much does it. My son is allergic Lavender. The first time he had a reaction his eyes puffed up so much they closed and hive rash appeared. He had to go to a&e to have his eye drained. This happened all summer the first year (5 yrs ago) & we just did not know what was giving him the reaction. We did not know definatly now. We assume it was the Lavender plant, as he had a nasty reaction on a number of ocasions at school & they confirmed each time he had been in contact with Lavender (usually by falling or being pushed in it). Thankfully he has not reacted to lavender for some time now.

Agree it could be anything, the pollen could be drifting. He could have skin prick tests for tree pollen. If you know exactly when it starts this may help www.mypharmacy.co.uk/health_information/topics/h/hay-fever/calendar/hay_fever_calendar.htm

The problem is that a lot of the stuff is around at the same time and this year everything has been early so it's even harder to tell.

I can't do links. If you cut and paste that the underlining should only be between health and information and between the second hay and fever and between fever and calendar at the end.
