Unsure of diagnosis?

Has anyone been told their baby has CMPI and go dairy free but you just don't agree?

I've been dairy free for 6 weeks and over the last 3-4 weeks I've really started questioning whether the doctor has got this idea in his head and so put it in my head and on reflection I'm just very sceptical about the whole thing...

Going dairy free has been challenging and I don't even know if it's necessary.

Has baby improved at all? And have you completely eliminated all dairy?

What is happening (or not) that is making you doubtful?

The only reason the GP said he was CMPI was because he had reflux and some eczema on his face. Everything else about my son was normal so when my GP came out with the disagnosis it took me by complete surprise.

I went dairy free and about 3 weeks later I went to another GP because if anything my sons eczema was worse and he gave me a steroid cream. I used the cream three times over 48 hours and then applied moisturiser for a further two days and the eczema completely cleared up.

I have been dairy free for about 8 weeks and nothing has changed....though I don't know what I expect to change seeing as the eczema was the only sign of intolerance anyway.

He did has issues with wind at night and generally being uncomfortable with it but he's since been diagnosed with a tongue tie which was probably the cause of those issues. I had his tongue tie procedure about two weeks ago and I've been told it will be about another month before he re-learns how to feed properly.

He's never vomited, he's never had diarrhoea, he's never had blood or mucous in his stools or any of the other typical Tell-tale signs of a milk allergy.

I had some dairy yesterday actually in order to trial him and 24 hours later he's no different to how he always is.
