I read a thread somewhere about someone getting Elena's natural collection on the nhs. Would that person let me know the exact name of the products they got and how they persuaded their doctor to prescribe it ? Many thanx.

Hi
Think it was me. We get Elenas on NHS for my little one - it has been great for him. If you contact Elenas Nature Collection on 01435 882092 they will supply you with some info to take into your doctor. We used it for 3 weeks prior to getting it on NHS (cost us a fortune) so we were able to show doc how much good it was doing. It was still a battle though they kept trying to get me to use steroids and I said no I am not changing something that already works. Won in the end. Any more help you want just ask. Good Luck XX

hayleyhew, what are they used for?

Blyton · 18/02/2007 21:04

Hayleyhew - thanks for the info. Was Elena's stuff that good that you didn't have to use steroids when the little one's eczema flared up ? Am adverse to using steroids but have to use it when his skin gets really red, blotchy and sometimes weepy. Could you let me have the exact names of the creams you get via the NHS. My doctor said they'd prescribe it to me but i needed to have the exact names. The pharmacist had a check for me under Elena and nothing came up so i'm wondering whether it's called something else on his list. Many thanx

ah.

Sorry only just seen your message - I am useless! Anyway, I dont use steroids at all. The Elena stuff does take some time to kick in as its the natural way. How it is described is that it brings the excema to the top, dries it out and gets rid of it (we are not rid of it all - but 80% better) whereas steroids just hide it. The creams I use are Elenas trinity soap, bath and body oil, day cream and night cream (personally we find the day cream works better than the eureka cream on her site which is described as being better for flare ups). It is hard at first to get used to using it cos the idea is you cover body with the soap and leave for 5mins to half hour then shower off (not easy with baby/toddler) then oil straight away all over body then apply night or day cream when oil is soaked in. We found at beginning oil would soak straight in his skin was sooo dry. But now it takes 5 mins. The itching and flare ups (were hell!) got better after about 2 weeks. The best bet is to give them a ring on 01435882092 and get a sample back so you can try it out on little ones skin to check he is OK with it and then they will also send you paperwork to give your doctor. Any more questions dont hesitate to contact me - hope you get on as well with it as we have. My email address is [email protected]
