Does food related eczema always cause digestive problems?

Please help collective wisdom of mumsnet! 2.5 yo dd has had what I thought was contact dermatitis on her hand and wrists for the last year or so. However, now has a patch on her thigh and think her eyelid. If it was in any way food intolerance related it would show in her nappies wouldn't it? Don't want to start exclusion diets for no reason.
We already avoid any soapy products, bath every other night, use emollients and occasional steroid creams. Trying vinegar bath tonight - interesting smelling bathroom!

No, it doesn't always cause digestive problems. For some it does, for others it doesn't. It's definitely worthwhile trying the food exclusion diet.

Great, thank you.

DD can be covered in eczema if she's eaten even a less than zero point something percent concentration of one trigger, but her digestive and respiratory systems remain normal.

In the midst of a severe flare-up, she was referred as an adult to an NHS allergy clinic who unfortunately only test for digestive and respiratory allergies, her allergic reaction doesn't even show up on their radar Sad
