Bread maker - Zero gluten baker

Has anyone used this gluten free bread making machine? I am very tempted by it but can only find reviews (which do seem to be positive) from bloggers - who I suspect are not completely impartial!

Any impartial reviews! I would love to get one (and would love more to have yummy bread) but don't want to spend a lot of money on something not very good.
Thanks

Cant you just use a normal one? I have a panasonic one, the book includes GF recipes.

lovecake · 06/01/2016 21:33

I guess I could use a normal one but, if it is anything like my experience of trying to bake gf bread, it just doesn't turn out as nice.

This particularly one's selling point is that it makes gluten free bread using a method most suitable for gluten fre baking.

I guess this is what I am asking- has anyone used it, and is it worth buying for the difference in taste/texture, or will it just be like a normal bread maker?

Thanks.

I made some for a friend using this flour

www.dovesfarm.co.uk/
recipes/gluten-free-white-bread-for-bread-machines/

in this machine

www.amazon.co.uk/Panasonic-SD-ZB2502BXC-Stainless-Steel-Bread/dp/B0055HSEOC/ref=sr_1_2?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1452116150&sr=1-2&keywords=best+panasonic+bread+maker

But then I had success with the Doves flour without a machine so maybe it is the flour.

I would go for a tried and trusted machine tbh.

If it was the one that they were selling at the allergy and free from show (sorry, i can't remember the name), i tried the bread on the spot and it was actually quite good (coming from someone who eats normal bread, but has a son who can't eat wheat).... high praise when I can eat the normal stuff..

lovecake · 08/01/2016 19:15

Thank you, yes I do think it was the one at the allergy show. It is good to know that you have tried it and it is good. Coming from someone who can eat normal bread- that is high praise indeed! Smile

Hi lovecake! I have had one of these since last year, and have so far loved it. It is a bit of trial and error, as I have followed the recipes in the book that comes with it, but for some reason my cakes (especially the brownies) needed a lot longer time to cook. Ive no idea why, and did contact their customer service to ask if it was a problem they were aware of.

I wont say that it does anything particularly different to a normal breadmaker with a GF function on it, but the fact it did cakes as well as bread was what sold it for me.

It is an expensive purchase, but there are some deals around if you search. I got mine with a £50 voucher off through the Zero Gluten website, but with the Allergy Shows coming up again soon, im sure there will be more discount vouchers around.

Hope this helps anyway! Im going to try the seeded rolls this weekend to see how they work out.

Nicky x
