food intolerance test on NHS for dd

Does anyone know if it's possible to get a food intolerance test for my dd on the NHS and what are the criteria for this? I was thinking specifically lactose & gluten intolerance? Also - what would be the most reliable test to do? Can say a blood test just give some reliable results or would everyone just say go on an elimination diet? I would rather try a clinical test if possible as it would be very hard to do an elimination diet. thanks

clinical tests don't pick up all allergies/intolerances so even if you did one, it wouldn't necessarily be definitive.

You can test poo for lactose issues, I believe, but i don't know about gluten unless you're coeliac, and the test still isn't 100% reliable.

Elimination diets are never easy, however if you've got a problem, then you need to eliminate anyway. Much much better to just get stuck in and do it, and see if things get better.

My daughter has recently been diagnosed with fructose and lactose intolerances on the NHS. She had two hydrogen breath tests to diagnise her.

The test for coeliacs is a blood test.
