my ds is 14 months and wanted to know if anyone knew of a really good probitoic supplement. I've been using one made by biocare and wondered if anyone knew of anything better?

They go through phases Mairimac, ours lived on air for a year and suddenly couldn't stop eating and now he is going back to eating less but I assume it has something to do with disrupting his routine with the winter time use. (DS doesn't eat well if he is too tired)

Someone mentioned here long time ago that if you give them options from where to choose they would choose the ones that were more healthy, I tried it and... he became a broccoli fan

What was your child having before you introduced cow's milk? would it be worth trying to revert to previous drink to see if the problem improves?

He was on cow and gate formula, but the loose nappies and the rash started two weeks prior to his first birthday which was before I even started on the cow's milk. So I don't actually know if it's cow's milk or not or something else with is causing it, but can't really think what it could be.

Twickersmum - where did you find the Cutlurelle probiotic, did a search and can't seem to find too much about them in the UK. Lots in USA.

Considering that the problem has being going on for just a couple of months it may well be temporary intolerance, probably a bit of dairy abstinence for a couple of weeks may help his tummy to be back in track.

mairimac · 15/11/2006 21:49

Yes I have no doubt it is a temporary intolerance to the dairy. I like the probiotic but wanted something maybe better than biocare bananadophilus. The Culturelle seems good but where to get it?

I got Culterelle via a kinesiologist (who identified my dd2's dairy intolerance). i can't find the details now but will call her - might take me a couple of days though.
