Nursery and multiple allergies

Hi, My DS has multiple allergies and is due to start nursery soon.

I'm worried because he might eat from other children's food, and there's going to be a lot of crying and waking up at night, even if its a small piece of food. He will be in a small room of 6 other children.

Is this likely to work? What has your experience been? Am I better off getting a nanny instead?

My dd has an anaphylactic allergy and when she went to nursery, she was closely watched by the supervisors. She was absolutely 100% safe and actually the reactions she had were with me!!! They are fully trained and will take extreme care with your little one. depending on how old he is, it could teach him responsibility as well Smile hope I helped

Do you mind saying what his allergies are? My daughter started nursery with allergies to egg, nuts and peanuts and it was fine, they were very careful, didn't do any baking with Eggs type activities etc on the days she was there.

However had she not grown out of her milk allergy by then, that might have been more challenging as the kids get milk at playtime.

My son had dairy, eggs, nuts, sesame, oats and wheat and had every type of medication. Our nursery was very good with it. They gave him soya milk and gave fruit for his snack. i also provided biscuits. We were in a montessorri so all the children and staff learned about food allergies and they were taught to wash their hands before and after snack time as well as washing their own dishes. They were really good with it and this was a school with 16 children and 4 adults.
