My 3 year was diagnosed as having a milk allergy at 13 weeks old! So it was pretty easy to manage! By 2 we were told she had grown out of it..... But now all her symtoms have come back - vomiting, pain in tummy, constipation, loose bowel movements and inflamed bum and lady parts!!!

Has any one else experienced this??

After giving her milk so long we now have to removed all foods with dairy! At the minute it feels like the impossible task!! Ideas???

Springflower, I don't have any experience with the allergies reappearing, but as you haven't had any responses, i didn't want to read and run.

My 3 yo has multiple allergies; many of which give similar symptoms to yours. Have you done an exclusion diet to check it's actually dairy causing the issues? To be honest, cutting out dairy may seem difficult to start with, but actually it's very easy, you just need to get on the learning curve :-) I can recommend the facebook site Cows Milk Protein Allergy Support. It helped me a lot in my early days (we now have cut out dairy, egg, soy, wheat, gluten, corn, gourds, legumes, peanuts, tree nuts and a bit more, so a lot of my advice might be over the top for 'just' milk allergy)....

Best of luck!

PS. My 3 year old easily understands that when he eats certain foods he feels sick; i take our own food to parties, so he's got something to eat, make sure he's always got 'his' treats at nursery when need be and he's absolutely fine with it. I think the idea is not to exclude them yourselves, just find a substitute when need be, and help them understand.

Hi, have u seen a GP? They should be able to get you a referral for allergy testing. My DH and DD have got milk allergy - we use a lot of soya products (milk, cream, jogurts) as substitutes. There are lots of vegan recipes that can give u ideas on what can be used instead of milk. It get manageable after a while but a bit more difficult when u r eating out.

It does get easier to manage. There are plenty of substitutes out there. Oatly milk is great and they do a 'cream' which can be used in cooking. Vitalite is a great spread and can be used in baking (as can Pure). There are chocolate substitutes (even own brands in ost supermarkets) and if your DD can have soya then there are soya yogurts and puddings too. Some biscuits are dairy free (bourbons, jammy dogers). If there is are specific groups of items you are struggling with just ask and I'm sure someone will help.
