My nearly 4 year old son has has bumps on his cheeks for practically his whole life. They're starting to get worse. They're not red, but definitely contain something thick and white and protrude from his face.
He has cows milk allergy and had severe silent reflux as a baby. I have a very long list of food allergies, and we're starting to wonder if his skin breakout might be caused by a food allergy.
We replace his milk with oat milk, and he has wheatbix every morning for breakfast. It's the only consistent thing he eats in large amounts, so we were thinking of starting there for an elimination test.
Anyone else experience this sort of skin condition or know of an allergy symptom that might manifest itself in this way?

Please talk to your GP before doing anything, so many 'minor' symptoms are signs of hidden illnesses. If it is an allergy, you will have started in the right place - should there be any come-backs later.

Just a thought ... my grandson had dreadful eczema as a toddler (I know it's not the same) ... this disappeared completely when his parents installed a water softener/filter!

Hi, it sounds like Keratosis Pilaris to me. My three kids all have it, worse so in daughter with mild eczema and I had it myself in my teenage years. I have found that exfoliating helps to remove it, but then it feels sore afterwards. Much better to use a good emolient/moisturiser.
I would check with your doctor before you start removing foods from his diet.

I had it. DS has it. It does sound like Keratosis Pilaris. www.britishskinfoundation.org.uk/SkinInformation/AtoZofSkindisease/KeratosisPilaris.aspx
We do some mild scrubbing on DS - about once a week (he has it on his upper arms and a little on his face and behind his ears). And moisturise - daily. Use E45 bubbles. Always seems worse in the winter. Mine disappeared with puberty. Fingers crossed.
