He's 13m. The doctor has advised us to go completely dairy free and cut right back on gluten while we wait for a referral for the allergy clinic at the hospital.

Does anyone have any tips re. dairy free milks/spreads etc? There are so many! Some of them are really pricey and my food budget is already pretty tight, but I don't want to go for cheap ones if they're rubbish or full of sugar.

We're quite lucky in that he's a big veg fan and loves meat and fish (we'd have been in trouble if were DS1!) but it's going to take a lot of readjustment.

Any tips? I'm at a bit of a loss really - especially as DS1 is a nightmare with food fussy eater and half the stuff he will eat DS2 now can't...

Vitalite is your friend. You can cook with it too e.g. cakes etc. Don't panic just get good at checking labels.

For milk we use Oatly but look in your local supermarkets and see what is available (usually in long life section) as you need to choose something easily available to you. Koko is good too.

Thank you cyber We've got a few different supermarkets near us so I'll have a mooch and see who does what.

We used to have Vitalite when I was little. It'll be like a trip down memory lane Smile

I know that once we're settled into it we'll be fine, it's just a very daunting prospect at the mo!

Pure is nice. We use oat or nut milk.

We use alpro almond milk, you can get a sugar free one if you want as well. Soya milk is also a good one, you can use both of these in place of milk in baking etc. soya butter. Tastes pretty much the same but obviously no dairy - you can use this in cooking as well!Grin

We use coconut milk here. No yoghurts in our house sadly Hmm But if you look in Pinterest there's a ton of dairy free recipes. Much cheaper to make than buy.

Koko is really delicious. I like it much more than dairy. Currently 3 for £3 in sainsburys, probably worth stocking up!

Almond milk very nutritious.

I'm looking at buying a soya milk maker, at the moment, which you can also use to make nut milks.
