It's encouraging to hear of nut allergies being outgrown, although I know that applies only in a small number of cases. Does your son eat any nuts, or avoid them altogether? I've always gone for a policy of total nut avoidance with my son, but the specialist last week said they now encourage people to eat 'safe' nuts at home (the dietitian suggested washing them first in case of cross contamination).

eragon · 18/09/2014 20:27

yes. he eats them in shell form and has been advised to eat things like chocolate spread. also eats cooked /baked egg.

we rinse nut shells as well. we fear the peanut cross contamination.

am very glad we have had expert advice and support from st marys hospital over the years.
