Cutting out dairy to reduce mucous production (perennial allergic rhinitis)

Hello

I was diagnosed with perennial allergic rhinitis (PAR) about ten years ago, and have taken oral antihistamines since.

I've recently wondered if reducing dairy, or cutting it out completely, may help reduce my mucous production? I sneeze and blow my nose a lot and it's really annoying. I should have taken out shares in Kleenex Grin

Does anyone have any experience of this please?

I've been dairy free for two years for unrelated reasons but had rhinitis before hand. It's definitely improved but not completely eliminated it.

Thanks Superworm that's helpful. I was hoping that just cutting down might help, but seems even eliminating dairy doesn't cure it.

Do you still take antihistamines?

I used to but haven't for a few years as pregnant/breastfeeding. They did help though.
