Allergic reaction to Piz burn - what can I give ?

Ds (huge 11 yr old - weight and height of a 14yr old) I'd ran out of p20 this morning, so I put him some Piz burn cream I use on before school. He was playing up at school and since he's come home he is now covered (and I mean covered) in a glowing red rash where I applied the cream (arms, face, neck, top of chest). I've sent him to bed with a zirtek (which he has everyday for hay fever)

If he's still bad in the morning is there anything else I can give him ?

This happened to me Ruth their hypoallergenic sun cream. Piriton might help bug it took weeks for the rash to go. I complained and they refunded me the cream and gave me a voucher. I think they get this a lot .

My dcs have all reacted to suncream in the past, but not to quite the extent of your ds. Usually, they just end up covered in eczema. Suncreams that are OK one year, sometimes are not OK the following year. I don't know if that is due to changes in the kids, or changes i the suncream. Different people seem to react to different things in the suncream, so what may be safe for one person, is not necessarily OK for others. Now I always patch test a suncream on my kids before covering them. I also avoid factor 50 as this is always bad. For us, Soltan kids sensitive is usually OK.

He's fine now, we've always used p20 on him as it lasts till end of school day. Luckily it calmed down quite quickly, was reading lots of horror stories about Piz burn reactions Hmm

Got his p20 now and sanity is restored ! It's the first "skin" thing he has reacted to ever. Won't be using Piz buin on him again though.

his skin will be highly sensitive now for a while, so be careful about shampoos and soap etc.

Roc sensitive sun cream was ok for our son for while when younger. He can tolerate sultan sensitive stuff now.

I would cover up for while in the sun rather than use a lot of sun cream if possible.
