What's zerobase? Is it any good? Grass skin allergy

My DS 3 has seemingly become allergic to GRASS! on his skin, huge hives outbreaks when he isn't with me, but been playing on grass at preschool, childminder and grandmas

Doc has never seen anything like it before (dunno why I'm surprised, he had no knowledge of German measles either. I digress)

So doc didn't know what to do. Has prescribed antihistimene twice daily and zerobase at night for DS newly formed dragon skin. He had now had four major outbreaks in about three weeks.

Anyone else have grass allergy?
And tell me about zerobase!
Thanks

Blimey AllabouttheE that looks bad. What antihistamine did he give you? My dd has Cetirizine for her dust and pollen allergies but Piriton for her food reactions. I don't really like the Zerobase much for my dd. But we use it as a moisteriser for her dry skin (suffers atopic eczema). She formally had diprobase which was fab very simular ingredients, she had been on it for years. Suddenly they changed it probably due to cost. We find the Zero base is thinner and disapears from the skin quicker. Diprobase stayed on the skin better as more of a protective barrier. She could swim in Diprobase but not Zerobase as it washes off more. I would have thought seeing your poor ds's red skin he would have needed a steriod. Not that I like using steriods too much. Hopefully someone with better knowledge on grass reactions like that will pop up up soon.

We still use the Zerobase though. Not had any problems with it other than it being a bit thin. Just could do with a heavy moisteriser for dd esp at bad.

Thanks chloesmum
Yes certirizine but only as his sister already had it for hayever.
Two nights of zero base is calming the scales. It's been raining last two days so he hasn't been on the grass for me to see if having antihistamine prevents the reaction.

I'm feeling pretty laid back about it but I think otherwise I would freak out! So I'm sort of minimising!
