Is anyone's LO CMPA but fine with goats milk?

DD tested completely clear with a skin prick test for goats milk. She is still CMPA though. Dietician suggested we should give her goats milk. And see how it goes. I'm nervous to try it. Should I? And what's the best thing to give 1st?

I'm surprised they recommended goats milk as 90% are also allergic to it and 40% to soya, our dietician told us not to use it.

All DS's allergy testing came back negative but he's so symptomatic that he's diagnosed as having a milk allergy anyway (for example, give him a bottle of cows milk, his eczema flares up).

You haven't said how old your child is, when he was a baby DS was on Neocate which we got on prescription, now he's over one we weaned him on to soya.

How old is your DD, as that may be the difference as to what they recommend.

My sister was ok for goats . Trust your dietitian if she's good , just tread carefully and use your instincts too !

I tried goat produces but DS reacted. so stopped.

My daughter and I are okay with goat and sheep yoghurt. But we only have it 1-2 x a week. Cant do CMP at all.

Agree with Pobble - most that are allergic to CMP can't have goats either so it's a risk. Talk to your dietitian to see how she recommends introducing it but be prepared for a milk reaction.

Think I would be checking with an allergy specialist (hospital paediatrician) rather than 'just' a dietician. Most dieticians who work in allergy clinics do know what they are talking about, but goats milk is a bit of a risk for a CMP allergic child - so many of us mums who have children with CMPA have been told to steer well clear of goats milk.

Negative skin prick test sounds promising - but do check with the paediatrician, maybe by email, before you go ahead with this.
