I have no experience of allergies myself except that DH and some other family members have various allergies.
As DD (6yo) has had various admissions to hospital for wheeziness, and also suffers from eczema we were advised due to the family history not to allow her to eat nuts until she was 5 (DH is allergic to nuts).
Time has ticked on and she has been 'confirmed' as asthmatic although suffers fewer problems as she gets older. I feel that I need to confirm whether or not she has an allergy as we can't carry on avoiding nuts without a good reason but I have no clue how to proceed.
Feed her a minute amount and monitor her?
Have her tested - can this be done via the GP or do we need to go privately?
The trouble is as the allergies vary through the family she could have issues with other types of food we haven't even considered.
Any help or information gratefully received.
