Dd is having severe stomach pains and has done so through the entire Easter Hols. Varies but stomach pain ongoing even in the evenings, keeping her awake til midnight regularly, goes up to bed every night with heat packs ect. Has many allergies but I cannot work this one out. Visit to the doctors yesterday and given Buscopan tablets and blood tests arranged for Fri. Checking cealiac, anemia, liver ect. Urine fine. Had to send her school this morning as it's going on all the time but can ease back (ish). She has gone in agony now-heart breaking. She is at secondary school. Problem is she just cannot swallow tablets. Tried and tried to the bitter end yesterday with the buscopan but failed and you cannot break chew or crush. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh. Any tips welcome. Atleast five in bin now. Tried just water, yogurt and even resorted to her chewing it in bread in desperation but ended up tasting foul and coming out and an evening of burping to follow so not sure it was a good idea. Will keep trying in case she can master it at some point but any tips/info welcome. She is already on movicol and has been for many years, so toilet wise does not appear constipated. No problems felt with her tum.

Dd has similar tummy pains and was prescribed buscopan. She's also found that Tums help and these are chewy.

Thanks VivaleBeaver. The doc only wanted to try dd on one thing at a time as quite reactive so to speak and was contamplating gaviscon also. But decided on the Busopan first. I am usually too afraid to try dd on very much at all but getting desperate now. She has anaphylaxis to peanuts, Allergies to alsorts of fruits/veg, enviromental, and Ibruprofen etc.

Must be worrying. I've never seen liquid buscopan, ask the pharmacist maybe. They know stuff like that I think.

Dd's pains stopped on their own and to be honest I put it down to stress of starting at secondary and friendship problems.

Yes it is a worry, dd has always had things, bouts of stomach issues but never so long term. Feel bad I have left it so long this time but used to problem after problem and little help from experts so you get used to just pushing on. It has got to crunch time now, something has to be done. She is suffering too much. Yes I have even spoke to dd that stress can cause these things too. But she has always been used to stresses with all her problems and is genuinely quite up beat. Has settled well at school, made new friends, mixing with them outside of school. She is usually the one to take them to the school nurse! Will join clubs alone and not rely on anyone else to be with her. But the pain is dragging her down.
Homework does trigger some stress, eyes start itching, cough (asthma) starts and eczema starts to itch, she gets stroppy etc. I have noticed this weirdly. But can't be the cause of it all as she did not start her homework until the end of the hols! I don't know why it happens with homework as she is coping with work at school ok but then with everything else the pain, lack of sleep its no wonder. To find time when its not hurting and she is up to doing homework is a bit of a nightmare.
