Recommendations for ridiculously dry skin around eyes, please?

The weekend before last my whole face swelled up & was very hot, red & itchy - no idea what caused it. (I don't usually have allergic reactions to anything except the sun & that's never affected my face)

I took antihistamines for a few days & the swelling subsided but I've now got impossibly dry & wrinkled skin all round my eyes & however much I apply moisturisers, as soon as it soaks in it feels dry again.

As I am over 60 I'm resigned to slowly becoming more wrinkled, but this is drastic & so sudden!

Aqueous cream & my usual facial moisturiser both sting a bit; huile prodigeuse doesn't sting but is - well - oily! Nelson's Calendula doesn't sting but disappears too quickly.

I've seen Aquaphor recommended but don't know whether healing ointment or soothing balm would be better?

Any other suggestions?

I was told by a beauty consultant not to put on too much under eye serum as it can make the area puffy .

I recommend the Simple Soothing Eye Balm. I always use it when I have hayfever, which causes my eyes to water a lot and the skin surrounding them gets red and dry just as you describe. Everything else stings like mad. You can keep using it as and when as it is very gentle.

ooh, thanks, Springy Smile - that sounds like just the thing!
