Are walnut trees a problem for someone with a walnut allergy?

We were thinking about staying at a campsite in France that has walnut trees. DS has walnut allergy so I'm wondering if walnut trees could cause a problem?

Thanks. It does mention another issue which is a tree pollen allergy which is less severe. This is something else to consider, especially as he does have hayfever as well but it might be over by August. I was wondering if perhaps the dust or crumbs from from fallen walnuts could be an issue. A small crumb of the stuff in the mouth could be serious. I know that some people swell up if they are in the same room as someone eating something they are allergic to. I don't think DS is quite that bad but he does carry an epi-pen.

It sounds like it could lead to a stressful holiday worrying about this. Is there a different site you could consider?

Can he handle bits of walnut or their shells safely? You might find the area under the trees has both.
