Baby with dangerously swollen intestine-allergy the cause!

Is there anyone else out there with this as the symptom? I am desperate to find out.
Dd2 was ebf when at 9 weeks she was admitted and fighting for her life. I had been screaming that something was wrong and been ignored. We were previously discharged and colic was diagnosed . I know I was on everyone's 'watch list'.
Baby's main symptoms were - thrashing at breast;screaming;weird tummy shape from birth;awful wind both ways;diarrhoea 15 times a day;jaundice and rash.
The crisis came and she basically started bloating in her abdomen to the extent that she might 'pop'. By now obviously I was being taken seriously and we were in the 'just pray' zone.
Fast forward past all the flashing blue lights and biopsies and we have a diagnosis of severe food allergy through my breast milk. Solution was to put me on a restricted diet. It worked.
The consultant told me this was a rare reaction
Baby is now 2 and I am very blessed , we are both on allergen free diets and alls well . I know I am still dealing with the shock.
I am still so angry with the midwives, health visitors, nurses, doctors and consultants who ignored me and allowed the 'just had a baby ,hysterical mum' thoughts. I could have buried my little baby if it wasn't for a junior doctor and her amazing listening ears.
Any others out there?!

No experience of such a severe reaction but so sorry this happened to you. Sounds incredibly stressful. No wonder you are still recovering from it all.

DS is allergic to dairy and soy and choked in his vomit at six weeks from the reflux it caused. I ended up in a&e with a baby that couldn't breath and it was by far the most awful thing that has ever happened to me. Two years on I can still picture his little bulging eyes and foaming mouth as he struggled to breath.

Lots of people see me as a neurotic mum rather than acknowledge the cause. It's been very frustrating to say the least.

Thanks for replying ,the reflux was a joy here too! The pain must have been awful for you little one.
Are they going to reintroduce those foods at some point ?
