help me create a gluten free food parcel

My sister lives in rural Asia. She's just today been diagnosed as coeliac, so she's a bit lost with what to eat. She's already a veggie (but eats fish). Dairy products and food for special diets is not easy to get hold of. So I wanted to send her an emergency food parcel, to both cheer her up and tide her over until she learns where to source GF items.

What would you suggest? I can get to Tesco, Sainsburys and Waitrose. Dry ingredients will post best. I was thinking GF pasta and stock cubes, but which types are the nicest and what else ...

Thanks in advance

Mrs Crimble (?) biscuits are nice.
Kallo bouillon

Aww that's a lovely thought! I find breakfast very challenging so maybe (if you can post big stuff) you could send some gluten-free cornflakes?! They keep as well, so better than sending bread!

Haribo is gluten-free and always cheers me up Grin

I haven't got a favourite GF pasta -it's all pretty much OK as long as eaten fresh. Stock cubes are a very good idea!

Tamari sauce instead of soy sauce, although that might be readily available?

Very sad but I really like the dark chocolate covered rice cakes - not too bad for you and very light to post..!

gf crackers will keep OK and most big supermarkets will have some.

For a treat, I have just discovered Tesco Finest quadruple nut cookies (they also do a triple choc cookie). Having been a coeliac for 30 years, these are by far the most amazing gluten free biscuits in the world. Possibly.

Tesco own brand pasta/spaghetti are pretty good (I tend to add a bit of olive oil to the water as it sticks a little). Can your sister eat rice noodles? Tamari gluten free soy sauce would be a good addition to your parcel (Waitrose/Sainsburys) as regular soy sauce is not gf.

ooh I completely agree about those biscuits from Tesco - they actually taste nice and very luxurious! makes note to buy some immediately

Dotty I was so thrilled to find some tucked away in my desk drawer earlier. Taste amazing but only 100cals per biccie.

Therein Mrs Crimble savoury crackers are good - either plain or cheese. Warburton's gf bread is pretty good - but would depend on how long it would take to arrive and whether your sis could freeze.

100 cals per biscuit means nothing though when the minimum number I have to eat each time is 4 3...! Grin

I don't like Mrs Crimbles' stuff 'cos I hate coconut, but any port in a storm at times...!

Doves farm pasta is the best IMO
They also do great flour and baking ingredients like baking powder etc
Yes to choc covered rice cakes!

If she's just, diagnosed then she shouldn't be eating oats. The tesco gf cookies have oat flour in them.

Stick, cubes would be good, presume she will be able to get rice noodles over there.

Cheese biscuits, asda ones are good. Agree on,the choc, covered rice cakes ( and yoghurt covered ones too. - aldi do these)

Gluten free pasta and cereal. Mrs Crimble macaroons and crackers are the nicest. What a lovely, thoughtful idea!

Lovely idea! Hale & Hearty chocolate cake mix is yum. Dove's Farm g-f pasta and g-f plain flour. Isabel's cheesy flour mix (can't remember what it's called exactly). Salute g-f spaghetti is v. good. Orgran mini lasagna is nice. Luxury biscuits - I'm not a fan of Mrs Crimbles but I LOOOOOOVE Kent & Fraser biscuits and Dove's Farm do some nice ones too.

Roses chocolates and Heroes are g-f.
Porkilicious mini salamis are rather nice.
I like Kallo's rice cakes.
