Dont want to overreact - possible tree nut allergy?

DD (10) as a baby was anaphylactic to milk, until she grew out of it at aged 5. Since then we have had no problems, until tonight. She ate a piece of toblerone (almonds) and her mouth started swelling, and became pink. DP was with her and instantly gave her anti-histamine, which has worked. Now, I am not sure what to do next, I am thinking of making a routine GP appointment, and am going to exclude tree nuts over xmas (which is easy as DP has same allergy). My main worry is that I don't want to overreact, as her milk allergy has left her with serious food issues, and I don't want to add to that.

I think to get a proper answer you'll need to go to a gp first then get a referral to a specialist. I'm by no means an expert but that does sound like an allergy of some sort, possibly oral allergy syndrome rather than a straightforward allergy. Does DD get hayfever?

Since her milk allergy, she has not reacted to anything. I will make a routine appointment, and go from there. Thanks lackingideas

I would avoid all nuts and get her tested asap by a specialist. Could easily be a nut allergy. Sorry. I would also take antihistamine everywhere she goes.

neolara I agree about avoidance, until we know. We know from experience that not all reactions follow the same pattern, or same severity. We do carry anit-histamine all the time anyway, due to habit, and I am so peeved that we seem to be doing this all again. I hope dearly that this was a one off, DD will be so upset.
